Ricardo Ávila is both Editor-in-Chief of “Portafolio”, Colombia’s most influential business daily and Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Opinion) of “El Tiempo”, the main newspaper in Colombia. An economist by training, he holds a Masters’ degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a Graduate Certificate in Latin American Development. Winner of the National Prize of Journalism Simon Bolivar, Ricardo has been a teacher at Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, and is also an author and a consultant.
