Ara has partnered with UNICEF in 2024 to implement the “Comprehensive Care for Early Childhood, Families and Caregivers” programme in Nariño, on Colombia’s Pacific coast, to fight illiteracy.

In late 2023, the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) and Jerónimo Martins Colombia signed a new three-year cooperation agreement, aimed at preventing and fighting food poverty in the country.

To fight food insecurity in Colombia, Ara built in 2024 the first food bank in the Pacific, located in Buenaventura.

“One million reasons” is a private welfare investment plan launched in 2024 by Ara to improve the quality of life for more than 60,000 children, young people and mothers in Colombia.
