Francisco George interview: Time for Mozambique
On March 24th, a team of doctors, nurses and psychologists left on a mission to set up and operate the Portuguese Red Cross Field Hospital in Beira, following the damages of cyclone Idai. “Going the distance. It cannot be a one-off thing. Most organisations that came to support emergency operations left Beira after a few weeks. We went the other route: we helped in the emergency, but we stayed to aid in healthcare consolidation”, answered Francisco George, President of the Portuguese Red Cross, on this interview for the Feed magazine.
